I wanted to show you how I dress if I'm going to go grab a drink with some friends, and I don't want to look underdressed, but I don't want to look overly dressed as well. I'm actually getting into accessorizing my outfits now, so I try to grab a hat, and some sunglasses before I leave the house. Even though the sun sets at 6PM now, it's always good to have a little bit of shade from the sun! This dress from Zaful is casual enough for me to throw on a belt, and wear my flats with.  You don't need to wear heels, if you don't want to. I'm actually against wearing things that will hurt me.  I really love this dress, because the sleeves are big, and there's lace on them. Plus if you are sick of wearing black dresses like me all of the time, it's always good to have a little red dress in your closet!

For those of you who have busy schedules like me, you're probably wondering how can I make my outfit work from day to night? I work an 8-5 job, and sometimes when I get off from work, I'm rushing because I want to make happy hour with my friends, or co-workers. This is an easy way to transition from day to night!  I like wearing something light like this top from Zaful, because it's simple, and it's easy to put away into my Longchamp backpack after I get off from work.
This longchamp backpack is big enough to fold up my clothes, and put them in there. The top is so lightweight and doesn't wrinkle easy so that's why I love wearing this floral top to work!  And I'm seriously in love with these Zaful sunglasses, because they are similar to some expensive brand sunglasses, but for a fraction of the price!  For those of you who are wondering what I put in my backpack, there's a notebook, my ipad, and my pencil case that I bring to work.

I don't often make a lot of resolutions during the New Years, because I just don't think they are practical. For one thing it gets a little crazy when you go to the gym and you see the gym is packed because there are a lot of people there who want to lose weight. I have a tendency to make long term resolutions to myself. But I decided this year to keep up with some of my regular resolutions, and to start a couple of new ones.

One of my new year resolutions include growing my own little garden. I've been looking at different planters on home depot, and I decided that this is going to be one of those good resolutions that I will be able to keep.

Another one, is trying to eat better. I like to think that every year I do better and better at this. However I'm starting to think I might be lactose and intolerant. I can't drink regular milk, unless it's non fat. And that bums me out because I like 2% milk.

I have one blogging resolution, and that's to keep up with my monthly blog posts. I'm going to try to start on monthly favorites, and hopefully empties! And of course I'm going to try to do instagram monthly as well. I'm also hoping to make more videos to go along with my blog posts.

The last one is to walk Monday through Fridays for at least a half an hour. I think I've been pretty good about this. I've been walking on the weekdays for the last couple of days!

This is going to be a guide about how to get followers on your blog. For those of you who don't know, I've just reached 850+ followers on GFC, Bloglovin, and Feedburner which is a big deal to me. Because I never thought I would get here! Now here's your chance to gain some followers, and to make some new friends!

Advertise - The easiest way for you to gain followers is to advertise. Check out some blogs that have free ad swaps on passionfruitads.com! It's great because passionfruit just opened up their marketplace a couple of months ago, and I go through it and I will check out blogs that I want to sponsor. (P.S. I currently have free ad swaps! Check out my sponsor page here!)

Be Consistent with your posts - You want your followers to be interested right? Well you need to post at least a couple times a week, to ensure that readers come back to read your content. I try to post at least 2 times per week. Sometimes it will change when I get more content to post about, but for the most part, I try to post at least twice a week.

Social Media - This is a easy way for you to gain followers. If you have a good following on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest, all you have to do is advertise your blog on your social media websites. I have a Indepedent Fashion Bloggers account and I've been trying to get a lot of my friends to check out my blog (It's time consuming but I think the result is pretty good!).

Clean Layout - This one is crucial! I mean I've read some messy blogs in the past, where there are like a hundred little blinking .GIFs, and fonts that are extremely hard to read. If your not sure where to pick up a really inexpensive layout try Etsy.com. You can find just about anything on there! I usually just do a search for white blogger templates, and you can check out all the amazing layouts! For those of you who have more money to splurge I would suggest BlogMilk.com, because they only release 15 of each design. Which is great if you don't want to be like everyone else.

Host Giveaways - You can always start out with a small giveaway. It doesn't have to be anything big. You can just give away some items that you really like/recommend to other people.

And of course try to get people involved! Even if it's your family, or close friends. Have people check out your blog, and if they like it they will recommend your blog to others.

For those of you who either have bloglovin, and don't use it, or for those of you who don't know what it is, here's a guide to how to use it. First thing you need to sign up for an account before you start on bloglovin. After that make sure you have exported all your Google reader reads, by using Google takeout. From there you want to find the file that you just downloaded called subscriptions, and change the extension to .OPML as opposed to .XML. Which is how your going to be able to transfer all your reads into bloglovin. For a more in depth tutorial on how to do this just Google: How to change an extension on a file. And you should be able to find some answers.
