Barry M Gelly Polishes

by - 6/12/2014

My parents took a month long vacation during May to go to Northern Europe, and I asked if my mom could pick me up some Barry M Gelly polishes while she was in the UK. She did, and when I got them in I thought they looked so pretty. You may have seen this picture on my instagram. From left to right: Lychee, Blueberry, Prickly Pear, and Green Berry.

Unfortunately, the formula isn't quite what I expected. These did not go on smooth, like OPI or Essie. These go on goopy, and they came out rather bad when I tried to put this stuff on my nails. It looked uneven, and my nails just looked horrible. I then decided to try a base coat, and then finish it off with a top coat, and they came out looking better then before. It's not the best polish personally to me, but it will do for now. I used prickly pear below.

This last picture below is what my nails looked after I fixed up the middle finger.

Note to self: Read all the instructions on the back and make sure you apply a base coat, because if you don't, your nails will come out looking nasty.

If you live in the UK, or if you have ever tried Barry M's Gelly polishes whats your opinion on these?

  3. The colours are pretty. Too bad the polish isn't very good. I usually try to only use one or two brands that I trust!

  4. Look so cute! I haven't tried gel nail polishes yet. Maybe on my net manicure appointment I'll ask the manicurist for a gel nail polish :)

  5. Ahh nail polishes...can be such a trouble. You did a great job, though all these quality issues shouldn't have been there in the first place... Illamasqua is still one of my favorite nail varnish brands.

  6. Yes a base coat does make a difference, not to sure if I a in to the jelly polishes I like the polish to be opaque though this does not really look see through.
